Stay Safe in June!
June is National Safety Month, a time to focus on reducing injury and risk in our environments, including the workplace. May is Mental Health Month
Whole health includes mental health. Agencies that use Pro-ACT training equip staff with the tools to support clients with mental health challenges, and promote the compassionate and respectful treatment of those who are struggling on their journey toward mental well-being.
Celebrate Autism Awareness in April
National Autism Awareness Month is not only an opportunity to promote awareness and acceptance, but to actively ensure that services provided to individuals with autism promote inclusion, self-determination, and the underlying tenet of Pro-ACT, Inc.: safety, dignity and respect.
Van Acker to Present at Cal-Ed Conference
Pro-ACT trainer Dr. Rick Van Acker was selected to facilitate the workshop “Effectively Addressing Challenging Classroom Behavior” at the 2018 Cal-Ed Conference this month. Cal-Ed is an organization for Educators of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Dr. Van Acker will discuss how, like all students, those who are deaf or hard of hearing are often confronted with emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders that give rise to challenging behavior, and proactive approaches to address these behaviors.
