Position: Pro-ACT National Trainer
(Not currently hiring. Hiring anticipated to begin in winter/spring 2024)
Job summary:
Pro-ACT, Inc. is a national training company established in 1975 and providing professional development and crisis response training to educators, health care and social service professionals nationwide. A Pro-ACT trainer will have 5+ years of experience in education, healthcare, or social service employment that includes direct client interaction plus involvement in leadership, staff supervision and training. Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred.
Part of a highly collaborative team, a Pro-ACT trainer will be responsible for delivering the Pro-ACT training curriculum to professionals throughout the U.S. as well as managing the pre- and post-training certification process. Training may be conducted virtually or on-site.
A Pro-ACT Trainer must be capable of independent work as well as the high-performance demands of adult learning. A personal commitment to Pro-ACT, Inc.’s mission of client and staff safety in an environment of support and respect are essential, as are attention to detail and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. A qualified person must be technically proficient and able to manage a virtual and in-person training environment. Some travel may be required.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human services, education, or behavioral health.
- Minimum of 1 year online learning experience in synchronous classroom.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or professional certification preferred.
- Capable with computer technology including word processing, email exchange and zoom.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 18 weeks per year.
- Ability to stand comfortably for 4 hours without sitting.
- Ability to bend and twist at the waist.
- Ability to kneel and return to standing without assistance.
- Ability to comfortably lift and move 35 lbs.
Description of duties: A full-time Pro-ACT trainer will:
- train a minimum of 36 weeks per year with a high probability of travel for some training activities;
- manage all training preparation and follow-up;
- train the Pro-ACT curriculum (in 5-day and 2.5-day combinations) as well as other Pro-ACT, Inc. training programs;
- develop and train other relevant curricula, and participate in the research, piloting, and promotion of such programs;
- monitor and communicate the status of political and legislative activities regarding healthcare, social service and educational issues;
- communicate with certified in-service instructors and other Pro-ACT, Inc. stake holders;
- coordinate, plan and manage all travel arrangements;
- execute all other duties as assigned.
