Specifically for parents, foster parents, and other care-giving family members addressing the challenges of potentially dangerous behavior, this 6-hour workshop is:
- led by an experienced educator
- conveniently accessible in live stream format
Understanding and managing high-risk behavior can be overwhelming and even frightening. In this workshop, participants will:
- learn to identify the patterns of challenging and physically dangerous behavior
- gain strategies for responding before the crisis happens
- develop personal plans for observing behavior and maintaining/re-gaining self-control
- practice communication strategies that offer choices and improve safety
Through discussion and practice, parents and caregivers will increase confidence in anticipating and identifying triggering incidents and choosing non-physical responses that prioritize safety for the parent, child, and others.
